Karra, Mir, Naqash visit low lying areas of Srinagar | Assures for betterment of drainage system | Srinagar, March 30 (Scoop News)-Minister of State for Urban Development and Power, Mohammad Ashraf Mir today visited various low lying areas of Srinagar city including Pantha Chowk, Athwajan, Sonwar, Karan Nagar, Poloview, Hari Singh High Street, Jehangir Chowk, Exhibition Crossing and reviewed the situation arisen after recent heavy rains and drainage of water from water logged areas. The Minister was informed that 11 dewatering vehicles have been pressed into services, besides fire tenders of Fire and Emergency Services to ensure dewatering from inundated areas. The Minister directed concerned officers to redouble their efforts and ensure dewatering on war foot basis. During the visit the various public deputations met the Minister and informed him about their problems regarding the drainage system. The Minister assured them that the drainage system in Srinagar city will be improved. Later, the Member Parliament, Tariq Hameed Karra, accompanied by Minister of State for Urban Development, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Minister of State for Social Welfare and Health, Asiya Naqash and MLA Batmaloo, Noor Mohammad Sheikh visited JVC Hospital Bemina and took stock of medicare facilities being provided to the patients in the hospital. The Ministers directed concerned officers to ensure immediate dewatering from the hospital premises. The Ministers were accompanied by the concerned officers and engineers. ... |
