| DC Anantnag convenes meeting | | Anantnag , May 20 (Scoop News)-District Development Commissioner Anantnag today chaired a high level meeting of concerned officers at District headquarters for ensuring hassle free traffic movement in the district especially Anantnag Town.
DSP, ARTO, Executive officer Anantnag Municipality, Tehsildar Anantnag, DSP Traffic, SHO Anantnag and other concerned attended the meeting.
Strategy for making Anantnag town jam-free was discussed threadbare in the meeting. The detailed reports prepared by different expert committees constituted for the purpose were also considered in the meeting.
Establishment of additional parking slots for load carriers, TATA 407, discussed in the meeting.
The District Development Commissioner further directed making the paid parking at old SRTC Depot and Rani Bagh operational so that road side parking is prevented as a short term measure. He also instructed concerned authorities for identifying more parking slots for their development as a long term measure. He said a detailed project has been formulated and submitted to higher authorities for acceptance as a long term measure.
Ordering for marking of parking slots with different colours in coming days, the District Development Commissioner also directed for clearing the garbage from the city before 8 am. He directed for ensuring “no entry” for Trucks/heavy vehicles in the city within the stipulated time.
The DDC instructed all concerned officers to work with close coordination so that smooth traffic movement is ensured.
Executive Officer Anantnag Municipality was directed not to allow usage of foot-paths and roads by vendors on daily basis.
