Padder inspects Doodpathri Water Supply Scheme
Says Arigam-Doodpathri road to boost tourism
Doodpathri,May 28 (Scoop News)-Reiterating that socio-economic uplift of all regions of the State is among prime priorities of Government, Minister of State for Forests, PHE and Irrigation, Abdul Majeed Padder has said that Government is striving hard to lead the State to new era of development and prosperity.
This was stated by the Minister while conducting an extensive tour of Arigam-Doodpathri areas in Budgam district.
During his visit, the Minister inspected various Public Health Engineering projects including Impounding Reservoir of 1.5 crore gallon capacity water supply scheme at Doodpathri which will suffice the drinking water supply needs of about 14 villages in Khansahib. He also inspected Doodpathri Filtration Plant and asked the concerned to expedite all projects in stipulated time frame so that people are benefitted with all such developmental projects.
The Minister also visited various areas including Arigam, Sochilipathri, Mujpathri, Drager and other vicinities around Doodpathri tourist place and took stock of various developmental works and ongoing projects.
The Minister also inspected the nursery of forest Department and asked concerned to go ahead with more plantation wherever is required.
Padder inspected Arigam-Doodpathri road which is being developed to provide alternate approach road to Doodpathri via Arigam to facilitate the locals and tourists visiting the scenic spot.
On the occasion, the Minister interacted with local populace and hoped that connecting Arigam road with Doodpathri will improve the living conditions of the local population besides give flip to their Socio-economic status by generating ample opportunities of employment to the local youth.
Padder said that Nature has bestowed our State with natural beauty and resources including forest wealth and water bodies. He urged upon one and all to contribute for the protection and preservation such valuable treasures.
The Minister said that Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Syed is very keen for the promotion of the tourism sector which is back bone of the State economy for which government has fixed priority to make State all time tourist destination for national and international tourists.
The Minister was accompanied by the MLC, Saif-u-Din Bhat, Chief Conservator Forests, Kashmir, Nissar Ahmad Darzi, besides officers of Forest, PHE and other Departments.
