Rajnath’s statement yet again exposed PDP’s lies:NC
NC holds District Convention at Baramulla

Baramulla,May 28 (Scoop News)- National Conference on Thursday lashed out at PDP and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for lying on the issue of allocation of land for separate, segregated composite townships for Kashmiri Pandits in light of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement where he had said that the State Government had been directed to identify land for this purpose. During a District Convention of the party held at Dak Bungalow, Baramulla, Senior Party Leaders said PDP’s dual speak on this issue was dangerous and concealed an obvious sell-out to BJP on this very sensitive issue.

Addressing party delegates, office bearers and workers at the District Party Convention for Baramulla District at Dak Bungalow here today, Senior NC Leaders including General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Mohammad Shafi Uri, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Showkat Ahmed Mir, Javaid Ahmed Dar, Ghulam Hassan Rahi, Mohammad Ashraf Ganai, Shahid Ali Shah, Ghulam Rasool Naaz, Mohammad Yaqoob Wani asked PDP to clarify its position on the issue of allocation of land for composite townships. Lashing out at PDP, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said PDP’s sell-out to BJP had compromised on the interests and sentiments of the people of the State and such mischiefs would only bring more strife and instability to a State that has already suffered due to a prolonged political turmoil.

“Mufti Sahab should come clean on Rajnath Singh’s statement where Singh has said that the State Government is in the process of identifying land for the composite townships. This is yet another instance where PDP’s lies have been exposed after it entered into an unholy nexus with the BJP, ironically the same party it sought votes against in the Assembly Elections. The people are not fools not to realize what Mufti Sahab has done in order to become the Chief Minister for six years. He has sold one blank cheque after another and handed it over to BJP. Be it the issue of Article 370, the issue of West Pakistan Refugees, the issue of Power Projects or the issue of ‘Battle of Ideas’ with the Separatist leaders – PDP has effortlessly surrendered on every key and sensitive issue. Every week there is a new expose or a revelation about PDP’s sell-out to BJP”, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said.

Addressing the Convention, NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said PDP should stop hiding behind its theatrics and smokescreens and come clean on its sell-outs to the BJP. “The Chief Minister says on the floor of the Assembly that there is no question of separate composite townships for Kashmiri Pandits while the Union Home Minister as recently as yesterday says the State Government is in the process of identifying land for these townships. How many more lies with Mufti Sahab script? PDP should know the wrath of a betrayed people has no limit and the tolerance of the common-man is running out. PDP’s political dramas cannot hide the party’s enormous failures on the governance front. There is virtually no Government in the State. People are without salaries, contractors without funds, and flood victims haven’t seen an iota of the compensation and relief that PDP had promised before elections. The State is rudderless”, the NC Provincial President

The NC Leaders asked the party delegates and cadre to reach out to the people and work with them in holding this Government accountable for the promises it made before elections. Asking the party cadre to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, the National Conference leaders said the party’s soon to start membership drive would be a mega, comprehensive exercise that would center around empowering the common man and giving voice to the voiceless. “National Conference chose righteousness and did not compromise to come to power as was done by the PDP. We did not surrender our ideology for the petty trappings of power and we will never choose power over the sentiments and aspirations of our people”, the NC Leaders said during the course of the District Convention at Baramulla.
