| KCC&I to organize 6th International Buyer Seller Meet at SKICC | | Launches logo | 
Srinagar, May 28, (Scoop News)-Curtain raiser to 6th International Buyer Seller Meet-2015 was held by the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc)(KCC&I) today at 7C’s Café N Fine Dine, Sangarmall City Centre, Srinagar. While launching the logo of the meet the President, KCC&I explained the prestige and purpose of the Buyer Seller Meet.
He said the 6th International Buyer Seller Meet organized by the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Inc) is all set to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister J&K on 30th of May 2015 at Sher-i-Kashmir International conference Complex, Srinagar and the Meet is essentially a concerted effort towards bringing together the Kashmir handicraft manufacturers /traders/exporters and handicraft importers of the countries all over the globe so as to assess and appreciate niceties of the handicraft in a wider perspective and strike larger long term and on the spot business deals. We have buyers/importers from around two dozen countries participating in the meet.
Statement said that One hundred stalls displaying variety handicraft merchandise including paper machie, carpets, Kashmiri Pashmina shawls, Kashmiri kani shawls, Kashmir sozni, wood carvings, chain stitch rugs, wall hangings, crewel embroidered fabrics, suede leather embroidered bags, silver wares, walnut kernels, saffron, honey, murals, herbal oils / extracts ETC stand installed for our manufacturers/traders/exporters participating to display their products in the Meet. Arrangements have also been made at the meet venue for our craftsmen/artisan for live demonstration of their skill.
Although the Buyer Seller Meet has been an annual feature organized by the Chamber , it assumes more significance now because our handicraft manufacture as also trade and export is in rehabilitation and revival mode after it has suffered hard hit by the ravages of the September 2014 floods. The chamber has been making its efforts to organize more and more events to display our world famous product so as to provide sufficient opportunity for our artisans to produce more for exports which will help them live life with dignity and serve to strengthen economy of the State.
