116th Birth Anniversary of Brigadier Rajinder Singh observed at Bagoona
Chander Parkash pays homage
Samba, June 14 (Scoop News)- The 116th Birth Anniversary of Brigadier Rajinder Singh was celebrated at his birth place village Bagoona in Samba by the Brigadier Rajinder Singh Memorial committee in collaboration with District Administration, Samba and J&K Ex Service league.
Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga was the Chief Guest on the occasion. District Development Commissioner, Samba Sheetal Nanda, Director Doordarshan Kendra Jammu Anjali Sharma, SDM Vijaypur, Vice Chancellor Central University Jammu Prof. Ashok Aima, SSP Samba, Maj General (retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (president J&K Ex-Serviceman League), Sarpanch Raya Khajoor Singh, Sarpanch Rajinderpura Brijpal Singh and locals in large number were also present on the occasion.
Paying homage to Brig Rajinder Singh, the Minister said that we are proud of the fact that such a great warrior was born in our state. He exhorted upon the youth to follow his footsteps and take pledge to be always ready to safeguard the honour of the country and make their country and fellow men proud of them. He also appreciated the efforts of J&K Ex-Serviceman league, District Administration and the people of Bagoona who celebrate birth anniversary of Brig Rajinder Singh “Saviour of Kashmir”. He called for highlighting the valor and supreme sacrifice of Brigadier Rajinder Singh which will inspire the future generations.
Minister also appealed the youth to put in hard efforts and remain away from social evils to achieve desired goals adding that a proactive approach and public participation is vital for a prosper society and nation.
Minister while responding to the issues projected by president J&KESL and Sarpanchs regarding improving road connectivity, water supply and other issues, said every possible step will be taken to redress the problems.
Vice chancellor Central University Jammu Prof. Ashok Aima while speaking on the occasion said that they will adopt one girls school where all facilities including computer courses will be started and trainings will be imparted for personality development of the students.
Director Doordarshan Kender also appreciated the efforts of J&K Ex-Serviceman League and locals for making this day a memorable one Maj General (retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal(president J&K Ex-Serviceman League), Sarpanch Raya Khajoor Singh, Sarpanch Rajinderpura Brijpal Singh and others also spoke on the occasion.
A cultural programme was also presented by school children on the occasion. Minister appreciated the students for their cultural performances and asked them to take part in co-curricular activities for their overall development.
Later The Minister inaugurated the maintenance work of road from Swankha Morh via Baba Sidh Goria to Balotra Chak .
While speaking on the occasion Minister said road connectivity will be improved and restortation works will be completed in time for the Baba Sidh Goria Mela at Swankha and Baba Chambliyal Mela at Chambliyal and directed PWD to complete the construction work and to improve the road connectivity so that devotees do not face any such problem during mela days and also laid thrust on quality of work.
