Pak Rangers violate tranquility on border, fires few mortars and small arms
BSF responds with equal measure


Akhnoor, August 1, (Scoop News)-The Pakistan Rangers on Saturday morning fired few mortars and used small arms fire on forward Indian positions along the international border in Jammu district, a senior official told Scoop News.

"It started around 1030 hrs (IST) and lasted for almost an hour", he added.

Paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) personnel guarding the border retaliated the fire equal measure and calibre, the official said adding, there was no loss life or injury to anyone on this side due enemy fire.

He said Pakistani troops had been regularly violating the ceasefire both on IB and Line of Control (LoC) besides carrying out sniper attacks in which four people including an army soldier and two BSF men were killed during last month besides wounding a dozen of people.
