SRS reiterates demand of making Jammu as ‘Smart City’


Jammu, August 27 (Scoop News)-The government today announced the names of 98 towns and cities chosen for its Smart Cities project after a nationwide competition between states.


“Jammu and Kashmir wanted time to decide between Jammu and Srinagar as its nominee for the project,” sources said.
Reiterating his demands State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi for choosing Jammu and Srinagar for its Smart Cities Project.


Particularly insisting Jammu for Smart City, Rajiv said Jammu should be preferred to be developed as a Smart City as it has bigger population and area, better geographical conditions and better connectivity to other parts of State.
For visionary planning and ensuring quality infrastructure for the convenience of the people and tourists coming from throughout the country for pilgrimage in Jammu, Rajiv said development of Jammu as a smart city is need of an hour.


He said Jammu also deserve the Smart City as it attracts lakhs of pilgrims every year. He hoped that State BJP leaders will take the issue with Centre for the selection of Jammu under the Smart Cities project.
