| 11 teams participate in Gujjar- Bakerwal volleyball tournament | | Army encourages untapped talent in remote areas | Samote, August 31, (Scoop News)_ Gujjar and Bakkarwal Pir Panjal volleyball tournament at Kandi was inaugurated by Honorary Lieutenant (Retired) Sanatan Singh, Vir Chakra on the occasion of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of 1965 War, a defence spokesman said on Monday.
He said the grand sporting event is being organised by Rashtriya Rifles battalion based at Samote under the aegis of Rashtriya Rifles Uniform Force Headquarters based at Reasi.
"The untapped talent of the youth from the Gujjar and Bakkarwal community is being encouraged by the Army", the spokesman added.
Eleven teams are participating in the Panchayats of Kotranka and Budhal tehsils in the week long tournament.
