813 cases settled in National Lok Adalats, Rs 7.98 cr recovered in bank cases
Chief Justice inaugurates NLA at High Court wing Jammu
Jammu, February 13 (Scoop News)-The State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) today convened National Lok Adalats across Jammu and Kashmir for speedy disposal of cases. 813 cases were disposed off in these Lok Adalats and Rs 7.98 crore were recovered in bank recovery suits.
At High Court wing Jammu the National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir, Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar in presence of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Executive Chairman J&K SLSA and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Chairman High Court Legal Services Committee.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Justice, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of Jammu and Kashmir SLSA, said the objective of organizing the Lok Adalats is to provide speedy legal services to the people and to dispose off the long pending cases.
813 cases were disposed off in today’s these Lok Adalats across J&K, including Bank recovery suits and cases under 138 NI Act, and an amount of Rs 7.98 crore was recovered in Bank recovery suits.
Justice Tashi Rabstan, Judge of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Registrar General, M K Hanjura, Registrar Judicial, Sanjay Parihar, Secretary High Court Legal Services Committee, Mr Ajay Gupta and Member Secretary SLSA, R K Watal were also present on the occasion.
Later, the Chief Justice and Chairman High Court Legal Services Committee also inspected the Lok Adalat Benches at District Court Complex Jammu.
