DC Kathua chairs PC & PNDT Act Review Meeting
Kathua, February 13 (Scoop News)-Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar, convened a meeting of District Advisory Committee regarding Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Sex Determination (Prohibition and Regulation) Act here today.


DC reviewed the functioning of the committee and directed CMO Kathua to keep vigil on the private ultra sound clinics so that any violation of the PC & PNDT Act. He further directed that no private ultra sound clinic should be made functional without proper registration and those having registration should have qualified technicians / para-medics as per the prescribed norms. He further told that mobile monitoring teams would be constituted for inspecting all the ultra sound clinics to prevent the malpractice of sex determination.
While interacting with the Radiologists DC asked them to maintain proper records of the patients and online submission of Form –F and “No Sex Determination” sign should be clearly marked in Doctor`s room.
DC also said that various awareness programmes are being conducted under “Pahal: Ek Kadam Naari Samman Ki Aur” as part of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign to improve the sex ratio under which Ladli Diwas will be celebrated on 19th of every month at Panchayat and Ward levels where PRI`s and all stakeholders will be involved to sensitize the masses.
CPO, CMO, PO ICDS, Medical superintendent of District Hospital Kathua, DSWO, members of District Advisory Committee and private ultra sound clinic owners were present in the meeting
