| Govt committed to provide conducive environ for industrial growth: Ganga | | Distributes 3rd COSIDICI Awards to progressive entrepreneurs |  Jammu, April 28 (Scoop News)- Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga today said that the government is taking adequate steps to provide a conducive environment to the industrialists and aspiring entrepreneurs in Jammu and Kashmir.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing the gathering of senior officers of Industries department, Industrialists from across the nation and budding entrepreneurs during the 3rd COSIDICI Award ceremony being organized for the first time in the state in collaboration with J&K SIDCO.
The Function was attended by President COSIDICI, P. Joy Oommen, General Secretary COSIDICI, V S Rathore, MD J&K SIDCO Amit Sharma, Heads of various units of Industries Department, Industrialists and progressive entrepreneurs.
Reiterating the commitment of the state government to develop industrial sector in the state, the Minister said that the government has come up with many innovative plans for promoting MSME’s. He congratulated the officers of J&K SIDCO for successfully organizing the Award function in the state for the first time.
During the function, the Minister awarded the 33 units from different parts of country for their outstanding performance out of which 10 awards went to various progressive industrial ventures of the state. ‘It is an honor to felicitate the entrepreneurs who have made tremendous efforts in taking their units on another height, he added.
The Minister congratulated the entrepreneurs and recipients of COSIDICI Awards-2016 and asked to act as act as Brand Ambassadors of the State . Ganga directed the officers of Industries department to provide full support and all requisite information to the stakeholders for promoting investing in Jammu & Kashmir.
President COSIDICI, P. Joy Oommen briefed the gathering about the role and objective behind setting-up of COSIDICI. He said that the COSIDICI is is an apex national federation of state level financial and investment corporations comprising State Financial Corporations, State Industrial Development Corporations and State Infrastructure Development Corporations established in the year 1976 and is engaged in promotion, development and financing of industry in small, medium and large sectors, besides developing industrial infrastructural facilities like membership of 56 state level institutions. COSIDICI is an accredited member of CII, FICCI, SCOPE, Small Scale Industries Board, Ministry of Industry GOI.
