Excise department Leh organizes panting/symposium competition



Leh,,May 22 (Scoop News)-The J&K Excise department Leh organizes panting/symposium competition among different school children under Social Responsibility Corpus Fund at Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh. As many as 250 students from different regions of Ladakh including Nyoma, Nobra, Khaltsi and Leh participated in the painting and symposium competition held on the theme “Drugs addition an invitation to death & destruction”. Four students from each school which includes two from junior category class 1st to 6th and two students from senior category class 7th to 12th participated in the competition and presented their marvelous thoughts on drug abuse through paintings. Three position holders which include first, second and third from each category were awarded cash prize of Rs.4000, Rs.3000, and Rs.2000 respectively besides two consolation prize of Rs.1000/ each were also awarded to two students from each category.
Later in the afternoon symposium competition was also held among students in which nearly 30 students delivered their speech highlighting some vital facts and figures about drug abuse in today’s world.
Interacting with media, Deputy Commissioner Excise Leh Tashi Dolma informed that such competition is organized in the entire J&K State today to aware the masses about the dreadful consequences of drugs abuse in the society. Later, distributing prizes among the students she urged students for raising awareness in the society against different kind of drug abuse.
Responding to a query Excise Inspector Zulfikar Ali assured to book the illicit liquor seller in the city or any other region with the coordination of police department but at the same time he urged public to give specific information regarding such cases by showing their social responsibilities.
District Project Officer ICDS Leh Kunzes Angmo, District Social Officer, Leh Rigzin Spalgon and Professor EJM College, Leh Rinchen Agnmo acted as judges.
