BJP leader urges Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to counsel Kashmiri youths
contribute in restoration of peace

Bangalore ,May 27 (Scoop News)-Ishfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, BJP leader and national executive member ST Morcha Thursday urged Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, prominent spiritual leader and founder of ‘Art of Living Foundation’ to use his influence in preventing youths from falling prey to violence related acts and drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir and contribute in restoring peace in the region.
According to a press release, Poswal held a detailed meeting with top spiritual leader in Bangluru . “I urged Shri Ravi Shankar ji to use his spiritual powers and influence in restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir and make youths shun the wrong path of violence and bloodshed. He agreed to visit Kashmir in near future and make efforts for restoration of peace,” said Poswal.

“I expressed my serious concerns over recurring incidents of stone pelting, drug abuse and other social ills in Kashmir and Shri listened to me patiently. He also expressed his concerns over the prevailing situation in Kashmir and assured me that he will make efforts to contribute in strengthening peace,” he added.

The BJP leader hoped that the spiritual leader, who has millions of followers across the world will organize meditation and Yoga camps in Kashmir to impart necessary tips to especially those youths intending to resort to drug abuse in a bid to get rid of anxiety. “In his address as well, Shri urged youths to come forward and use their energy in a positive way to strengthen peace and security in the country. The spiritual leader is an ardent advocate of peace and is making efforts across India to strengthen the peace and communal harmony,” said Poswal.
Referring to two recent encounters in Baramulla and Kupwara districts, Poswal said that Pakistan backed militants were hell bent on engaging Kashmiri youths in violence related acts.
“The militants have spoiled the careers of many local youths by luring them to gun culture. More youths are falling prey to menace of drugs according to a well thought out conspiracy by the miscreants. Police alone cannot combat the problem and collective efforts are needed to prevent youths from falling prey to such miscreants reluctant to disrupt peace for their vested interests,” said Poswal
