Bali Bhagat reviews functioning of Engineer wing in SSH
Stresses on improvement of health services in state
Jammu, September 30, (Scoop News)-Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today chaired a high level meeting to review the functioning of engineer wing of Super Specialty Hospital Jammu.
Secretary Health and Medical Education, M.K. Bhandari, Principal Government Medical College Jammu, Dr. Zahid Geelani, Director Finance, Zahoor Wani, Administrator Associated Hospitals, Jammu, Dr. Babila Rakwal, Medical Superintendents, GMC, CD Hospital, SMGS Hospital and SSH and concerned senior officers and doctors were also present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that efforts are on to upgrade the facilities in Super Specialty Hospital at par with premier hospitals to cater to the increasing rush and reduce the rush in GMC and SMGS hospitals.
While reviewing the functioning of engineering wing, the Minister sought details about working of Gas Plant, AC Plant, DG Set, Water Supply, Lift system. He also inquired about out sourced security and sanitation.
The Minister asked the concerned authorities to manage well all the assets and stressed on their proper up keep. He directed the hospital management to contact the agencies for restoration of all the mechanical units which are not presently functioning.
He also asked the Hospital authorities to maintain hygienic environment in the hospital.
Bali Bhagat asked the Principal GMC to make internal arrangement for operating various system of mechanical division installed in SSH. For this, he asked the management to take over the lifts and escalators installed in the hospital from outsourced manpower for their maintenance and functioning.
Later, a deputation of Safai Karamcharis Union also met the Minister and submit memorandum of their demands.
Earlier, Bali Bhagat paid surprise visit to Government Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Gangyal and took stock of its functioning. The Minister visited OPD, X-Ray sections, Laboratory and various wards of the hospital. He also interacted with the patients and attendants and enquired about the facilities being provided to them by the Hospital authorities.
The Minister directed the authorities to ensure cleanliness in and around the hospital premises and treat the patients with good care.
