DDC visits border villages in Hiranagar, reviews basic facilities in relief camps
Kathua, September 30, (Scoop News)- District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar today visited boarder villages Bobia, Pahar Pur in Hiranagar, interacted with people and issued advisory to people regarding safety measures. He also informed villagers that 20 locations for relief camps have been identified with necessary basic facilities in place.
Earlier, he also convened a meeting of senior officers from all the departments including essential services and camp officers to review the status of relief measures and requirements of various camps. He instructed the officials for immediate response to the requirements at camps and to provide all facilities to the people of border areas who were shifted as precautionary measure.
The DDC impressed upon all the officers present to provide assistance to the affected families and ensure that people are not put to any inconvenience. It was informed that ADC Kathua will be the overall incharge of all relief camps and SDM Hiranagar will supervise all the relief camps.
He issued strict instruction to all the tehisildars and Block development Officers of Hiranagar sub division to make liaison with the prominent citizens and local people of the areas.
It was also informed that a dedicated 24 hour helpline/control room has been established at DC office Kathua with contact no. 01922-232643 and temporary shelter camps to accommodate the affected families have been identified and camp officers have been appointed for those places viz Government Degree College Hiranagar, HS Chhan Rorian, ITI Hiranagar, HS Ragbagh, HS Chadwal, HS Challan, HS Chandwan, HS Gurah Mundian, HS Mela, HSS Hiranagar, MS Chann Khatriyan, MS Banyari and MS Gadyal.
Among others, ADC Kathua, RTO Kathua, ACD, ACR, XEN PHE, XEN PDD CEO Samba and CAHO were present in the meeting.
