| Police foils AIP’s Secretariat Ghearo | |
Srinagar, October 24, (News)-At least twelve protestors were injured when police used force to disperse AIP’s secretariat Gherao march near civil secretariat against terminating services of twenty two employees from police and civil administration,said in a AIP statement issued to press.
"Defying strict police restrictions, hundreds of protestors led by AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er Rashid gathered near Jehangir Chowk and started march towards civil secretariat. Protestors were holding black flags, ply cards and banners seeking revocation of terminating orders of these employees. Protestors were chanting slogans against Mehbooba regime and were expressing solidarity with the terminating employees. However, when procession reached near secretariat, heavy contingent of police and paramilitary forces stopped them and used force to disperse the protestors. Protestors gave stiff resistance to police but police dragged Er Rashid along with at least 70 protestors and lodged them in Police Station Shaheed Gunj",statement further said.
Before his arrest, Er Rashid while talking to media accused Mehbooba Mufti of crossing all Red Lines and bulldozing rights of people of the state. However, Er Rashid reiterated that dirty tactics like terminating govt. employees, slapping PSAs , arresting thousands will not weaken the commitment of Kashmiris towards Right to Self Determination.
He said “Mehbooba Mufti has lost her credibility and she seems to have given up everything to Sangh Parivar. She needs to be reminded that Govt. employees are not her servants and they have every right to support the sentiments and aspirations of their people. We as a nation are one and feel the pain of our employees. Let all Pro Kashmiri forces get united to create pressure on govt to withdraw these notorious and unacceptable orders”. Earlier police raided Er Rashid’s residence in Jawahir Nagar . However, he gave slip to police and reached the venue to lead the protest march.
