| NC leaders among hundreds bid final adieu to mortal remains of Mrs P. L Handoo | |
Jammu, October 27, (Scoop News)-Mortal remains of Mrs Pyare Lal Handoo, wife of former minister and veteran National Conference leader Late Mr Pyare Lal Handoo were consigned to flames at Bantalab Cremation Ground on Thursday afternoon.
Mrs Handoo expired here yesterday.
Besides relatives, hundreds of people were present at the Cremation Ground to pay their respect to Mrs Handoo. They included senior National Conference functionaries and leaders including former ministers Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra and Babu Ram Pal, State Vice Presidents Mr Rattan Lal Gupta and Th Kashmira Singh, State Secretary Th Rachpal Singh, former legislators, Mr Vijay Bakaya, Mr Abdul Kabir Pathan, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Mr Bushan Lal Bhat, Qazi Jalal-ud-Din besides Mr Abdul Gani Teli, Mr Vijay Lochan, Mr Anil Dhar, Mr Pradeep Bali, Mr Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, Mr M K Yogi, Mr Ashok Singh Manhas, S Darshan Singh, Dr Mohammed Shafi, Mr Rohit Bali, Mr Som Raj Taroch and others.
Later, a condolence meeting was held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan and two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The senior National Conference leaders conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
During the past two days, a large number of National Conference leaders and workers visited the residence of the bereaved family and offered condolences.
