| Yousuf chairs Privilege Committee meeting | | Panel drops Privilege motion against Chief Editor, Early times |
Jammu, February 22, (Scoop News)- A meeting of Committee on Privileges (PC) of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was today held under the Chairmanship of MLA, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat here today.
Threadbare discussion was held on the Privilege motion moved by the MLA, Usman Abdul Majid.
Legislators, Javid Ahmed Rana, Shamima Firdous, R S Pathania, Javaid Hassan Baig, Aijaz Ahmed Mir and Bashir Ahmed Dar were also present on the occasion and gave their suggestions on the issue.
The Committee dropped the Privilege Motion against the Editor of a local newspaper. After threadbare discussion on the matter, the committee decided to drop the privilege motion, on the condition that the newspaper publishes a corrigendum over misreporting.
The Committee decided that another petition given by R S Pathania against the Commissioner Secretary, Education will be discussed in its next meeting. Among others, officers and officials of Assembly Secretariat were attended the meeting.
