India- Oman joint training exercise at Bakloh camp concludes


Jammu, March 19, (Scoop News)-The fourteen day long joint training exercise, Exercise AL NAGAH- Ii between Indian Army and Royal Army of Oman, terminated today, at a training node at Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh with a 72 hour long Validation Exercise. Senior Observers and other officers from both the Armies were present during the Validation Exercise and Closing Ceremony.

In his closing remarks, Major General Naveen Kumar Airy of the Indian Army after addressing the participating contingents declared the joint training exercise closed. Observers of both the Nations appreciated the professional conduct of the training which has resulted in instilling confidence in each other’s capability. The exercise also demonstrated the determination of the two Armies in working closely with each other to eradicate the menace of terrorism in all its forms.

The Second Edition of Exercise AL NAGAH - Ii commenced on 06 March 2017 at Bakloh which is in continuation of a series of joint exercises between the Indian Army and Royal Army of Oman. The first joint exercise between India and Oman was held in Oman in 2015. The Joint Exercise was aimed to share expertise in counter insurgency operations and demonstrated the growing relationship between two countries. During the Exercise, both the Armies have shared their expertise and benefited with each other’s experience. The Joint Military Exercise shall be yet another milestone in defence co-operation and military relations between the two countries
