| BSNL losing its subscribers to rival telecom service providers due to sharp slide in its service and inflated billing | |  Jammu, March 24, (Scoop News)-With continuous decline in its services and the growing competition from its powerful rivals, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is going downhill on each passing day.
Owning huge assets across the country both movable and immovable, BSNL is losing its subscribers at an amazing rate because of poor service it provides to them. People are opting to other telecom service providers like Jio, Idea-Vodafone combine, Aircel or Airtel.
Some of the subscribers who spoke to this reporter complained of inflated bills being charged by the state owned telecom service providers.
“I was taken aback when I was billed nearly rupees 2,300 on my mobile. Nobody in the department was ready to entertain my complaint or listen to me. It appears they are still in the colonial hangover of the past,” Abhimanav Bhagat, a Jammu based private employee.
“BSNL is fleecing its subscribers by overcharging them. The mobile bills circulated last month were disproportionate and had pinched everybody. Even after making repeated calls we are unable to connect the desired number,” said Salim Khan, a state government employee.
Again the internet service being provided by BSNL makes one see red with no relief in sight. The telecom service provider is losing broadband business to its rivals as more and more customers are switching to other service providers.
According to well informed sources, the complacency on part of its officials has led to its slide in the service.
“They (officials) have yet to compromise on losing the monopoly status, it once enjoyed,” said Prakarti Sharma, a private school teacher. ... |
