Remove loudspeakers from all religious places: Shri Ram Sena

Jammu, April 18, (Scoop News)-Extending his support to singer Sonu Nigam’s tweet over using of loudspeakers on religious places, State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan asked the State Government to stop the use of loudspeakers at all religious places as it leads to noise pollution and is a violation of laid rules by the Supreme Court.
In a statement issued by the organisation, Rajiv Mahajan said, “The use of loudspeakers atop religious places is continuing in the State despite court directives.”
“The Supreme Court had taken serious note of the sound pollution caused due to the loudspeakers installed at religious places and had ordered that they be taken down but State Government has not taken action against a single loudspeaker on religious places,” he said.
Mahajan said, the Central Government while complying with the Supreme Court's directive made a provision in central acts prohibiting noise pollution by amplifiers, loudspeakers, music system etc. but there is still scant knowledge of such a ban among common people and even the law enforcement machinery of Jammu and Kashmir State has miserably failed to implement the provisions of the Central Act as well as the State Noise Pollution Act.
