NC, PDP responsible for current crisis: Vakil

Srinagar ,April 20, (Scoop News)- Former Minister Ab Gani Vakil has condemned the increasing harassment of students within and outside educational institutions in Kashmir valley which has now spread to Chenab Valley as was evident from the protests against beating of students in a Banihal village.
Coming down heavily on the government Vakil said allowing forces to enter the premises of any educational institution, be it school, college or university, shows the autocratic tendencies of a popular government which should have pondered over the low turnout recorded in recent bye polls in Srinagar parliamentary constituency. Calling upon the central government particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh to directly take on board the protesting students demanding non intervention of government forces in educational institutions and reach out to all political stake holders in Kashmir for restoration of peace, Vakil said the current crisis triggered by 7% turn out in bye polls in Srinagar parliamentary constituency and student protests against intervention of government forces in educational institutions is the failure of both National Conference and PDP in handholding of youth.
He said that non seriousness of the central government in initiating a process of political outreach in the state is also equally responsible for current mess in Kashmir and dialogue with stake holders if delayed even now could push kashmiris to a point of no return from alienation to democratic participation.
