Dy CM listens to 'Mann Ki Baat' with villagers at Billawar
Inaugurates various dev works
Billawar, May 28, (Scoop News)-Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today said that the present dispensation aims to improve access to quality education by upgrading infrastructure in government educational institutes for enhancing skill based knowledge and overall development of the children.
He said this after inaugurating 3 additional class rooms at Govt. Middle School, Karanwara completed under SSA at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.40 lakh and Rs. 1 lakh was further sanctioned for wall paintings as these classrooms were specially designed for Play Way classes.
Dr. Singh also appealed the parents to enroll their children with government institutes as they have been provided with appropriate infrastructure and qualified teachers, besides computer and science labs.
At Karanwara, the Deputy CM also inaugurated Model School Building at Govt. Model Middle School, Karanwara which was completed under SSA and convergence with MGNREGA at an estimated cost of Rs. 35 lakh. He directed CEO Kathua for providing Public Address System (PAS) to the school, besides completing the pending work of boundary wall at the earliest.
In an unprecedented gesture at village Parnala, the Deputy Chief Minister listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Radio programme – “Mann Ki Baat” along with the villagers and said that the radio programme is the most unique way of connecting people with the policies and schemes of the government.
He also called for celebrating World Environment Day on June 5 as the objective of celebrating this day is to give a human face to environmental issues, empower to become agents of sustainable and equitable development, promote to change attitude towards the environment and advocate partnership between each human being and each society to ensure a safe future.
Later, at Parnala, Dr. Singh inaugurated 24 meter span vented cause way on Parnala–Katni road to be executed under PMGSY at an estimated cost of Rs. 50.07 lakh.
At Dharalta, the Deputy CM took stock of problems being faced by the residents which were mainly concerned with scarcity of water, improvement in PDD infra, installation of hand pumps, shortage of teachers and up gradation of High School to Higher Secondary level.
After listening to their problems, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the concerned officers to resolve all the issues on priority as un-interrupted supply of power and water can only provide relief during summer season.
Earlier, the Deputy CM kick started work on 7.25 km road from Mangar to Upper Dhar to be executed under PMGSY with an estimated cost of Rs 7.1 crore and directed Executive Engineer PMGSY, Billawar to complete the road with in stipulated time of 15 months adhering to quality norms.
He further directed that SDM Billawar will supervise all the development works of Billawar and exhorted upon the officers to get timely clearance of forest department for all the development activities so that all the works get completed on time. He also directed CEO Kathua to ensure completion of the boundary wall of High School, Dharalta.
Dy.CM also announced Rs 5 lakh for tractor road to village Bhaid and Rs 4.75 lakh for improving PHE infra at village Dharalta. He also directed BDO Billawar to immediately transfer Gram Sevak of village Dharalta for dereliction of duties.
CEO Kathua, SDM Billawar, BDOs, XEN PMGSY Billawar, SDPO Basohli, AEEs, Tehsildars, State BJP VP Mamta Singh and prominent citizens were present during the occasion.
