RSS must clarify its stand over PoK DPs plight: Chuni

Jammu, July 16, (Scoop News)- “It can be digested that political parties have not done anything concrete to reduce the plights of PoK Displaced Persons due to their same DNA but it is bizarre that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) like religious organization that proclaims itself Hindu organization does not have a clear stand over the concern of PoK Displaced Persons”, this was stated by Rajiv Chuni, Chairman S. O. S. International - An organization for PoK Displaced Persons in a press statement.
In a press statement, Mr. Chuni said that 7 decades have been elapsed since PoK DPs were forcibly thrown out from their native places. “A incredibly horrific mass execution was carried out in PoK during tribal invasion in which thousands of PoK DPs were brutally killed, women were raped, scores of women and girls were abducted and their whereabouts are still unknown yet, scores of Hindus/Sikhs were religiously converted and those who survived in that mass massacre miraculously managed to move toward this side of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. During that time in 1947, RSS played a pivotal role in Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Poonch due to which thousands of PoK DPs were saved. But afterwards, the leadership of RSS failed to understand that under which sadistic and terrible conditions PoK DPs are forced to spend their lives in their own country. After their exodus from their ancestral places, more than 90% PoK DPs are still living in very miserable condition and their spree of swallowing agony till today is not a concealed fact. Even though, many are unaware of the fact that PoK DPs are still working as domestic help, driver, cleaner, laborer, painter, mason etc. and it is very difficult for them to meet their both ends and nobody from RSS leadership has ever visited to PoK DPs camps in these years to provide any sort of healing touch”, S. O. S. International chairman said.
Mr. Chuni further said that afterwards 1990, RSS has been working for the cause of Valley Migrants. “RSS left no stone unturned to ensure every facility at their doorsteps in the period of 27 years as it has been speaking for only one community and it hasn’t raised its concern over the plights of PoK DPs which is quite unfortunate. Whatever be the facility Valley Migrants are getting today whether its monthly cash relief of Rs 10000, free ration, free accommodation, reservation to the wards of Valley Migrants in technical and professional colleges across India, reservation in Government jobs and many more is due to RSSs persuasion where PoK DPs are getting nothing. RSS must clarify its stand that why it is discriminating PoK DPs vis-à-vis Valley Migrants”, he added.
“For the very first time since RSS’s inception, Top brass of RSS have gathered in the City of Temples - Jammu for its conclave. RSS Sarsanghchalak, Mohan Bhagwat ji along with other leaders is on visit of the border state and they must pay visit to our camps in order to know that under what pitiable conditions we are living our lives and after that RSS must clarify that why it is mum over the issues of world’s most impoverished Hindu and Sikh populace and why they are still in exodus after the lapse of 70 years”, he stated. He further said that RSS leaders visited Valley Migrants camps to understand their plights but it has not visited to PoK DPs, adding if RSS who itself calls Hindu Organization works for the cause of Hindus then why it is biased with PoK DPs.
S. O. S. International chairman further said that there are scores of reasons and the foremost reason behind such plight is no political representation in legislature. “The magnitude of discrimination between two displaced communities can be gauged by the fact that in 2015, Kashmiri Pandit was nominated as Member of Legislative Council (MLC) on the recommendation of RSS and again in 2017 the same episode was repeated, one more KP was made MLC. Despite the fact that Valley Migrants have the right to cast their vote for their respective constituencies from any part of the country to elect their MLA but the right of casting vote of PoK DPs have been snatched for their respective constituencies as these constituencies now fall on other side of Line of Control (LoC). Who needs political representation, for those who are in exile but can elect their MLA or for those who can’t elect their MLA from respective constituencies”, he stated. Mr. Chuni added that RSS’s needs to treat all displaced Hindus with same yard stick. “I appeal to the RSS leadership to help our community who took bullets on their chest to save the integrity of State and Country at large”, Mr. Chuni added.
