| Kavinder flags off Motor Rally ‘Our Army Our Pride’ | | 
Jammu, July 18, (Scoop News)- Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today flagged off a Motor Rally under the theme “Our Army Our Pride” here today from Jammu University.
The rally comprising around 20 bikes and equal number of cars will conclude at Drass after covering 600 KM distance. The participants of the rally include three female, including two car drivers and a biker.
The rally is being organized by ‘Fahad Mir Foundation’ in Association with ‘Care Nature and Environment’.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker hailed the organizers and the theme chosen for the rally. “We must not forget the sacrifices of the soldiers guarding the borders of the country so that nation is protected from the enemy and people feel safe inside their homes” the Speaker said.
Asking the nation to stand for country’s army, he said people should not forget that when they are resting in the safe four walls of their homes, soldiers are guarding the borders braving worst conditions.
He said that love for the nation must be imbibed by every citizen of India and essence of patriotism must reach every house, school and institution.
The Speaker applauded the efforts of the organizers for organizing first of its kind Motor/ Bike rally dedicated to soldiers of the nation.
The rally was flagged off in presence of a large gathering who wished the participants safe journey and expressed solidarity with Army personnel. The people present also took a pledge to honour and give due respect to the men in uniform.
Renowned celebrities from Bollywood, Randeep Hooda and singer Kailash Kher will also join the rally at Kargil .
Meanwhile, Singers Tanya Mahajan and Sonali Dogra performed at the flag off ceremony.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, M.K Bhandari and senior functionaries from various departments were also present on the occasion.
