| Imposition of Kashmiri language a cultural invasion on Jammu: Hari Om | |
Jammu, July 20, (Scoop News)- Terming the decision of BJP-PDP Government to introduce Kashmiri language in all the colleges in Jammu province a sinister move to undermine the rich culture of Dogras, Convener, Jammu for India (JFI), Prof. Hari Om on Thursday said that the BJP has subverted the 2014 mandate for fulfilling its insatiable lust for power and pelf. He said that first the BJP-PDP Governmen. provided all facilities to Rohingya and Bangladeshi Muslims to ensure their permanent settlement in Jammu and change its Hindu-majority character and now it is attacking the very cultural roots of the proud Dogras, who established a mighty Dogra empire in March 1846 consisting of Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir.
Prof. Hari Om accused the BJP of playing with the sentiments of the people of Jammu province and warned that BJP will become a story of the past in the region in case it continued to toe the half-separatist PDP’s line to remain in power.
Prof Hari Om said that people of Jammu had pinned faith in 2014 in the BJP on the misguided notion that a vote for BJP would be a vote for J&K’s total integration with India, ending of discriminatory policies with Jammu and reversal of the appeasement policy as then followed by UPA-I & II. He bemoaned that the BJP has dashed all the high hopes of the people of Jammu to the ground by throwing to the wind its ideology.
“The imposition of Kashmiri on Jammu is a part of sinister design. The Jammu for India knows the motives behind the conversion of 4 dozen posts of Assistant Professors for the purpose of introducing Kashmiri language in the Jammu colleges. The people of Jammu will not allow the government to force down their throat the pernicious decision come what may,” asserted the convener JFI. He added that the patience of the people of Jammu has already ended and cautioned the BJP that any move to impose Kashmiri on Jammu province will provoke political explosions in the province leading to the 2008-like-Andolan.
JFI appealed to the people of Jammu province, cutting across party lines and religious denomination, to come on one platform to oppose tooth and nail the government-sponsored cultural and demographic onslaught on the strategically located Jammu province. He also urged the people of Jammu province to get ready for evicting the Rohingya and Bangladeshi Muslims from Jammu as they have become a threat to not only to the very identity of people of Jammu province but also to the Nation as a whole.
