| Workshop on GST held in JU | |
Jammu,July 20, (Scoop News)- The Finance Wing of the University of Jammu organized a day long workshop for the officers and employees of Finance Wing and other sections of the University today to familiarize them on Goods and Services Tax Act.
Prof.Keshav Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs was the Chief Guest and Mr Arvind and Mr Neeraj Sharma, Sales Tax Officers were the resource persons.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Keshav Sharma congratulated Dr. Dharminder Magotra, Joint Registrar (Finance) and his team for organizing the workshop on GST in collaboration with Department of Commercial Taxes, J&K State, describing it as much needed endeavour.
The resource persons dwelt upon comprehensive details of Goods and Service Taxes Act and its procedural modalities to be adopted by the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs). They answered all the queries raised by the various employees of the University regarding implementation of GST and its follow up.
Dr. Dharminder Magotra, while speaking on the occasion, expressed his gratitude to Ms. Anu Malhotra, Additional Commissioner, Commercial Taxes for sparing the services of the two resource persons of her department for such a workshop. He expressed the hope that the department will help in organizing similar workshops for all HODs and other DDOs of various campuses.
The proceedings of the workshop were conducted by Dr. Saran Preet Kour Broca, Assistant Registrar (B/F).
The vote of thanks was presented by Mr Vivek Slathia, Deputy Registrar (Accounts).
