| Vistara airlines organizes an awareness programme for rights of children with disabilities | | 
Jammu, July 29, (Scoop News)- Team Vistara airlines of Jammu airport today organised an awareness programme for the rights of children with disabilities, Team under the leadership of Samrat Chakerborty celebrated the birthday of JRD Tata among children with different disabilities at JIGER institute Gangyaal Garden Jammu. Tata SIA Airlines Limited, operating as Vistara, is an Indian domestic airline based in Gurgaon. The Jammu team under its component of CSR donated two wheelchairs among the needy disable children and had a get together lunch party with children with disabilities enrolled in JIGER institute run under the ages of Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline Bijbehara Kashmir. Around thirty persons with disabilities mostly children bound to wheelchairs participated in the programme
Talking on the occasion Director JIGER institute Ms. Sandhy Dhar, who herself is a severe person with disability bound to wheel chair , that society has role to empower persons with disabilities. Time of charity has gone and it is completely replaced by the Developmental model, she added. Sandhya while explaining contributions of various eminent personalities with disabilities throughout globe said that community support has given birth to role models. We need to identify children with disabilities, give them education in completely disable friendly environment so that they could be shined as contributing citizens and not as the parasites or burden.
Manager Vistara Airline Jammu Ms Archana Koul thanked the JIGER institute organizers for being support system for children with disabilities from poor economic backgrounds. She said that it is not easy to cater the children with disabilities without having proper knowledge and training. She promised of full support to institute for expanding its sphere of activities to cover more children.
Mr Puneet Jotshi of Vistara Airline said that company has already manifesto to treat the guests with disabilities with honour and full respect. We will never compromise in dealing on empathetic lines with guests having different disabilities. Our team will float a request for seeking training the ground and airport staff to deal with guests with disabilities on modern lines. We will also ask for ramp facility to flights for guests with wheelchair needs so that these guests reach to their seats on board with full dignity and decency.
Mr Samrat Chakerborty General Manager security Air Vistara while distributing food packets to the children with disabilities told that these children have inbuilt talents that need to be identified. Applauding the work of JIGER institute, Mr Chakerborty promised to work in close coordination with the institute for ensuring overall development of children with disabilities. Chakerborty said that we will ensure disable friendly frisking mechanism for the guests with disabilities. Remembering the contribution of Jamsheed Jee Tata’s contribution for uplifting the underprivileged sections, Shree Chakerborty said that the mission of Shree TATA will be continued with letter and spirit.
