| CUK celebrates Librarians’ Day | |
Srinagar, August 12, (Scoop News)- Central Library of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Saturday celebrated “Librarians’ Day” in remembrance of Professor (Dr.) S R Ranganathan (1892-1972) popularly known as “ Father of Library Science in India” and “ World Librarian” who spearheaded library development in India and abroad.
It was (Dr.) S R Ranganathan’s 125th birth anniversary and to celebrate this, Central Library, organised photo exhibition of world-renowned librarians and libraries at Nowgam-I academic block of the varsity.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Librarian, Prof. Abdul Majid Baba, Deans of Schools, faculty members other officers/ officials, research scholars and students were present during the celebrations. The students showed huge interest towards the photo exhibition.
