| JU holds 112th Syndicate meeting | | Jammu, August 21, (Scoop News)-The University of Jammu held its 112th Syndicate meeting under the Chairmanship of Prof. R.D. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu.
At the outset, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed Mr. Navin K. Choudhary, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt., Finance Department, Financial Advisor (Universities), and the other esteemed members of the Syndicate. He apprised the members about the various academic, administrative and other development related initiatives taken by the University.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar University of Jammu presented 42 items in the meeting, including items related to Re-evaluation in P.G. Diploma Courses, Guidelines for Admission to the Students, Rules for the use of Dhanvantri Library, Introduction of B.E. in the UIET, B.Sc. Nursing & B. Architecture, Relaxation of JUET score in favour of specially-abled candidates, Adoption of SRO 217 and expansion in the constitution of Planning Board.
The action taken on previous items was also confirmed.
The Syndicate meeting was attended by Sh. Navin K. Degree College for Women, Parade, Jammu; Prof. Kiran Bakshi, Principal, Govt. College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu; Dr. Satinder Singh, Nodal Principal, GGM Sc. College, Jammu; Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Dean Faculty of Law, Head, Department of Law, University of Jammu; Prof. Naseem Ahamed Shah, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kashmir; Prof. Ramnika Jalali, Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu; Prof G.M Bhat, Dept of Geology, University of Jammu; Prof. Renu Sachar, Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu.
The Syndicate meeting was followed by a Screening Committee for promotion of officers.
The Vice-Chancellor also expressed his gratitude to the Finance Department of J&K Govt. and the worthy members of the Syndicate for their whole hearted cooperation in deliberating and implementing the various decisions of the Syndicate.
