Sacrifices of J&K police need to be saluted: Rana


Surinsar, September 11, (Scoop News)- Announcing setting up of a befitting memorial out of his Constituency Development Fund to recognize the sacrifice of Head Constable Krishan Chand, National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana on Monday lauded the profound sense of duty of Jammu and Kashmir Police to serve and protect the people.
Mr Rana was paying tribute to martyr Head Constable Krishan Chand on the Kriya ceremony observed at his residence in Chalana Village of Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
Advocate Subash Singh, Master Jagdish Khajuria and Mr Mohan Singh, ex Sarpanch of Pounthal were prominent among mourners including friends and relatives of the departed martyr.
Head constable Krishan Chand of Chalana village in Nagrota Assembly Constituency lost his life in a terror attack in Srinagar’s Pantha Chowk on September 1, 2017.
MLA Mr Rana said Jammu and Kashmir Police has remained steadfast while braving risks in the line of duty. He said the sacrifices of valiant officers, jawans and other ranks describe the valour and sense of dedication of the force, which has remained in the forefront to protect lives of people and save property.
“We owe all those, who the state has lost, our deepest gratitude for giving their today for our better and safe tomorrow”, Mr Rana said, adding that sacrifice of Head Constable Krishan Chand will inspire the force and the young people to serve the society even at the peril of his life. He said the courageous role played by the martyrs has won hearts of people as the brave custodians of law and orders besides lending helping hand in the times of natural calamities and disasters.
Mr Rana consoled the bereaved family, saying no words were enough to lessen their tragedy and loss. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed his solidarity with the bereaved family.
People paid glowing homage to the brave martyr and said his sacrifice has made the village and constituency proud.
