Five days workshop on Youth Ambassadors for Social Change begins at JU

Jammu, September 18, (Scoop News)-The National Service Scheme, campus units,University ofJammu in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Regional Centre, Chandigarh organised a five days workshop on the theme "YOUTH AMBASSADORS FOR SOCIAL CHANGE: LEADERSHIP AND LIFE SKILLS" in which 70 Nss volunteers from various colleges and university departments participated.
Prof. Anita Billawaria Dean Social Sciences inaugurated the workshop and appreciated the organisers for organising such an event on a vibrant topic. In her address she motivated the young NSS volunteers to develop Leadership and Life skill qualities for bringing in positive change not in the society but in the mindset of the people.

Prof Jasbir Singh Chairman NSS campus units, University of Jammu welcomed the Chief Guest and the NSS volunteers and highlighted the need for such a wokshop. He emphasised the need for organising such workshops and motivated the students not in the university but in the colleges also for their mass participatiMSS

Dr. Vishav Raksha Programme coordinator NSS in her address emphasised on the role of youth for bringing positive changes and also motivated youth to come forward for the cause of the nation.
Dr. Hema Gandotra the workshop coordinator and NSS programme Officer, University of Jammu appreciated the NSS volunteers for their mass participation and highlighted the importance and value of such activities in the life of the youth.
Ms. Amanpreet Kour, senior training coordinator, RGNIYD, Regional Centre , Chandigarh spoke about the activities and role of RGNIYD for organising such activities. Sessions on interpersonal relations, trust building, issues prevailing in the society and role of youth to resolve communication skills, leadership Shall be conducted by Ms Amanpreet Kour.
Dr Meghna Dhar programme officer, later presented formal vote of thanks.
Mr Jasvir singh and Ganesh singh senior NSS VOLUNTEERS conducted the programme and the sessions. Dr Anupama Vohra, Associate Dean, Students welfare, Dr Savita Nayyar and other programme Officers and faculty members from the University of Jammu were also present among others.
