| No takers of hollow slogans of PDP, BJP: Youth Cong | |
Rajouri, September 20, (Scoop News)-Terming Mehbooba Mufti led PDP-BJP coalition government as a non performing liability, Youth Congress today said that this regime has nothing to highlight as its achievements. Party observed that except promises nothing has been done on the ground since 2014.
Addressing one day convention of Youth Congress at Rajouri, Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) president, Pranav Shagotra pointed towards complete failure of the present dispensation to provide basic amenities to the people. He regretted that people of the State are confronting to get basic amenities like drinking water, ration, health facilities and power but the ministers of the government are seamlessly enjoying luxuries. He said that coalition government stands exposed for its non-performance and there are no takers for its hollow slogans now.
“Both PDP and BJP are equally responsible for the miseries of the people because both the parties have brazenly bartered peoples’ interests for enjoying power”, Mr Shagotra said and regretted the backwardness in the border district of Rajouri is a clear indication that elected representatives of this belt have miserable failed to come up to the expectations of the people.
Criticizing PDP-BJP regime for its failure to check corruption, he said that present government has crossed all limits of corruption. “While as in other parts of the country a debate is going on how to eradicate the menace of corruption but in Jammu and Kashmir government itself brazenly taking steps to weaken the anti-graft bodies”, he said, adding, “one and only noticeable achievement of this regime is legalization of corruption as family members and relatives are openly involved in corrupt practices”.
Speaking on the occasion, Uma Shankar Panday and Shishpal Singh I/C J&K Youth Congress said that coalition government has reneged on almost all the promises made with the people during electioneering and the coalition Government run by them seems to be a rudderless arrangement lacking direction and commitment.
Lambasting State Government for its failure to solve day today problems of the common masses, he said that miseries of the people have been increased manifold after formation of this regime which was formed without any programme and policy.
“Instead of solving basic problems of the common masses leaders of both leaders of PDP and BJP have been befooling the people by making false promises”, he said.
Pointing towards shortage of ration in government runs depots, he regretted that due to rampant corruption ration meant for poor people being sold in the open market.
Shabir Khan, former Minister, Iqbal Malik, senior Congress leader, addressed the one day convention and they said that PDP-BJP Coalition Government has totally failed to address the problems of the people of the state.”Since they (BJP-PDP) joined hands, the miseries of the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been increased manifold. While the BJP cheated people of Jammu, the people of Kashmir were cheated by the PDP,”
“More than two years have been passed but they have failed to fulfil any of the promises. “
