Army pays tribute to martyred soldiers | | Srinagar, October 11, (Scoop News)- Soldiers and officers of Army paid their tribute to soldiers who were martyred in an encounter with militants in Bandipora today.
Defence spokesman said that Army today paid befitting tributes to two of its Indian Air Force comrades who attained martyrdom during Counter Terrorist operations in Bandipora on 11 Oct 2017. Both the Air Force personnel were GARUD Commandos who were operating with the Army for operational experience and training.
He said that in a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen JS Sandhu, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks along with Air Cdre VS Choudhary, AOC 1 Wing AF, paid homage to the martyrs on behalf of a proud nation. Officials from other security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the martyrs.
Martyr Sgt K. Milind Kishor, 33 years of age, had joined the IAF in 2002 and hailed from Sakri town in Nashik, Maharashtra. Coming from Village Udhadih of Bhagalpur district in Bihar, the martyr Cpl Nilesh Kumar Nayan was 31 years in age and had donned the uniform in 2005.
The mortal remains of the martyrs were flown for last rites to their native places, where they would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved families of the martyrs and remains committed to their dignity and well being. ... |
