APS Udhmapur outshines others in English and Hindi debates
total six teams participated in competition


Udhampur, October 12, (Scoop News)-Northern Command Inter Army Public School English and Hindi debate competition was organised at APS Udhampur. The event was inaugurated by Col (Retd) AK Sharma, Director AWES (NC).

The event started with lighting of lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. Total six teams namely APS Nagrota, APS Akhnoor, APS Rakhmuthi, APS Dhar Road, APS Srinagar and Host APS Udhampur out of seven Army Public Schools from Northern Command participated in the competition.

APS Leh could not participated in the competition. The topic of the debate in english was “Renewable sources of energy should be subsidised by the government” and in Hindi was “Badhati Vygyanik technique Hamare liye naye khatre ka agaaz hai”.

Participants presented their views in favour and against the given topics with full energy. It was great to see the spirit and knowledge possessed by the young minds through arguments and counter arguments. Finally in English debate APS Udhampur team was adjudged as winner where as the second position was won by APS Rakhmuthi. Ms Vedika Pathania of APS Udhampur was adjudged as best speaker (favour) and Ms Avnitha choudhary of APS Udhampur was adjudged as best speaker (against).

In Hindi debate APS Udhampur declared winner and APS Dhar Road was adjudged as runner up. Ms Mansi Mandla was adjudged as best speaker (favour) and Ms Nandani Rastogi of APS Udhampur was declared best speaker (against). Master Anish Sundram and Master Shuvrajit Bhaduri of APS Udhampur were adjudged as best interjector in English and Hindi category respectively. chairman APS Udhampur Brig AN Walkade, presented the prizes to participants.

In his address, the chairman appreciated the cause and spirit shown by the students and their awareness to the topics in the modern era. In his address Mr Sanjeev Kumar, Principal , APS Udhampur thanked all the participants and lauded the way the debates were conducted. Now the winner team will participate at the National Level English and Hindi debate to be held at Secundrabad and Lucknow respectively.
