PCC takes serious exception to portraying Asiya Andrabi, as a 'role model', terms it matter of grave concern

Jammu, October 12, (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has taken strong exception to the incident in which one top separatist leader Asiya Andrabi has been shown as ‘role model’ in the Govt. campaign for “Beti-Bachao Beti-Padhao” in Kashmir and questioned whether BJP-PDP Govt. wants the daughter to follow the path of separatism.

Reacting strongly to this, party spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, termed it a matter of serious concern that PDP-BJP Govt. has been utter failure to check the separatist tendencies and questioned BJP especially Dy. chief minister, Nirmal Singh, for their total failure to safeguard the interests of the nation and respect the nationalist sentiments.

Andrabi has been shown a role model along with former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, and other great personalities like Mother Teresa, which is an insult to the nation, he said demanding an apology from the Government especially BJP and strict action.

He said that in the past also there were such controversies when in Govt. advertisements the names of religious places in Kashmir like Shankracharya temple and Hari Parbat and Gandola Project in Jammu were changed hurting the sentiments of the people.

This is total failure of the state Govt. of PDP-BJP and it should apologize for hurting the nationalist and religious sentiments of the countrymen and insulting our national leaders besides taking stern action to check such incidents.

He also reminded that name of a dreaded terrorist was painted on stadium and named after him, where the sports department conducted “Khelo India Campaign” funded by Government of India. He questioned if these acts are part of the deliberate attempts to appease the separatist element in the State.

He said there is lot of anger amongst the people against the government for allowing these acts against national interests and people would teach them a lesson....
