Bhuvneshwar Gandotra elected as president unanimously of Jammu Heritage Society

Jammu 12 November 2017: The election of Jammu Heritage Society (Regd.) Jammu for the term 2017 onwards were held here today under the supervision of Sunny Dua as Election President and Verinder Khurana as Election Member.

The elections were held in a very cordial manner and were unanimous. The Election President declared the results as Bhvneshwar Gandotra –President, Sanjev Karla – as Vice President, Aswani Arora – as Vice President, Ashwani Rohmetra – as General Secretary, Sanjay Gupta – as Secretary, Amit Goel – as Treasurer, Om Parkash (Kaku Ji) shall continue as Chairman of the society.
The outgoing Founder President Baldev Khullar was honored by presenting a Shawl and Souvenir by the election team for him contributions to the cause of the society. Baldev Khullar in his address assured of all sort of cooperation to the new team of office bearers as and when required.
He highlighted his achievements as Relief for Leh in 2010.Restoration of damaged portion of Bahu Fort.
Mr Khullar urged the Government to declare 23rd September, as late Maharaja Hari Singh Birthday as State Holiday.
The election President Bhvneshwar Gandotra assured the members that he shall work in right earnest with all members and office bearers to achieve the aims and objectives of the society.
He shall try to impress upon the Government Agencies to declare Mubarak Mandi as Trade mark for J&K State besides open Bahu for pubic and Tourists.
He shall also impress upon the agencies to complete Gandolas of Jammu & Patnitop, Suchetgarh Border be promoted at an earliest for Tourists beside cultural, religious and historical heritage of Jammu be given top priority basis.
The tourist circuits of Mantalai, Mansar, Surinsar be completed at an earliest besides Shahdra Sharief, Noor Chamb be developed on priority basis.
To develop prestigious Ranjit Sagar Dam Project at an earliest promotes water tourism in J&K.
This will help in promoting Jammu as an Independent Tourist Destination which is need of the hour in the light of extension of Railways to Katra and to Srinagar by 2020. The express highway corridor from Delhi to Katra shall also bypass Jammu.
Ajesh Rohmetra General Secretary conducted the proceedings and presented vote of thanks.
The members presented included Sanjay Sethi, Sachin Khurana, Ashwani Gupta, Gain Sharma, Vijay Pargal, Devikinandan, Vijay Arti, and Anoop Jain.
