Project Axis Dilse embraces 52 schools in each district of Ladakh region
with an objective to remodel state owned educational institutions


Leh/Kargil, November 13, (Scoop News)-Axis Bank in association with a local Non Governmental Organization (NGO)- 17000 ft Foundation has launched Axis Dilse and adopted 104 schools Ladakh region with an objective of remodel state owned schools and providing way in to better facilities for its children.

52 schools from each district of the region chosen on the recommendation of state education department have been taken up for appropriation while keeping special attention on the schools located in remote areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo, chief executive councilor (CEC)- Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) said it is a well conceived project that aims at developing mental and physical health of children reading in government owned schools of the twin districts of Ladakh region.

He said he would like to see story telling sessions being held in the libraries provided in these schools for the children played up on local culture and folk stories of the mountain locked region.

Those who were present at the event included Kunzes Angmo district programme officer ICDS Projects Leh, Tashi Dolma, Joint Director Education Ladakh, Suresh Warrier , head corporate affairs and CSR Axis bank, Dawa Jora director 17000 ft Foundation, Kanchok Angmo, Principal DIET Leh and several other dignator.

Suresh Warrier said his bank believes in holistic progress of communities with focus on generating steady livelihoods. Admission to tailor made education thus becomes a decisive qualifier in fulfilling this goal. He said Axis Dilse initiative is institution’s attempt in this regard to assist educational growth in the twin districts of Leh and Kargil.

Kunzes Angmo said that Anganwari Centres Leh need better skill and good teaching materials besides good training for their workers so that they can tutor children. The project Axis Dilse is providing this stage for making these centres well disposed to children

Lauding the unstinted support of CEC, Tashi Dolma said that they are able to commrnce on more such ambitions to better overall evolution and progress of children in the region with expertise of Axis Dilse in equipping these schools. ...
