Army pays tribute to its valiant martyr


Srinagar,November 15, (Scoop News)-Army today paid homage to its comrade who made the supreme sacrifice during Counter Terrorist operations in Kulgam on 14 Nov 2017 during which a militant was also eliminated. In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen JS Sandhu, Corps Commander, Chinar Corps and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation. In a show of solidarity, officials and representatives from the State Government and other security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the martyr.



Late Sep Manjinder Singh sustained bullet injury during the fierce operation at Waltingu in Kulgam District. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, but succumbed to the injuries.




The young martyr Sep Manjinder Singh was only 22 years old and had donned the uniform in 2015. He hailed from Village Banwala of Mansa district in Punjab. He is survived by his parents.



The mortal remains of the martyr were flown for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family of the martyr and remains committed to their dignity and well being.
