| Residents of Bhalessa demanding hill district status | |
Bhalessa ,November 22, (Scoop News)-A massive protest demonstration was staged by the residents of Bhalessa opposite Press Club Jammu demanding hill district status to Bhalessa and detachment of Bhalessa from the jurisdiction of ADC Bhaderwah that is more than 100 Kilometers from Bhalessa Gandoh.The speakers highlighted that Bhalessa areas have been attached to Bhaderwah ADC without the consent of the people; previously the area of Bhalessa has been with ADC Doda i.e only 66 Kms from Gandoh. Now the inhabitants of Bhalessa can’t travel 115 average kms to reach Bhaderwah for administrative work. The residents has demanded immediate withdrawal for the Government order and asked the Chief Minister for early detachment from ADC Bhaderwah and attachment with ADC Doda. The residents have demanded separate ADC Post for Bhalessa and its adjoining Tehsils.
It is worth to mention here that Bhalessa comprise of Kahara, Chilly Pingal, Gandoh, Neeli Khaljugasar, Chilly Area, Jitota area, Halaran, Joda and Soti Changa Klhotran. There huge landmass need an administrative convenience and Government should concede the demand of the local masses at an earliest. The speakers said that Bhalessa ranked 3rd in Doda District in terms of Population. It ranked 60th in the state. The Population of the area is 83636 as per census records; there are 66 Revenue Villages, 52 Panchayats in Bhalessa. The distance From District Headquarter Doda to Gandoh to Doda is 66 kilometers whereas the distance from Gandoh Bhalessa to Bhaderwah is 96 kilometers. Distance from farthest villages Like Khaljugasar, Manoo from Bhaderwah is 115 kms. Chilly Pingal to Doda is 68 kilometers, Bhaderwah is 98 Kilometers. Tehsil HQ Gandoh to Doda is 66 Kilometers.
The protesters said that the public resentment is seen in these areas against the move of attachment of Bhalessa with ADC Bhaderwah and masses are on roads for withdrawal of these areas from ADC Bhalderwah. The fact in that ADC Post for Bhaderwah has been created by the government without consulting the lakhs of population. The ADC post for Bhaderwah has been created under ambiguous facts and need immediate withdrawal to defy any loss in future due to the coming up of mass scale protests at all levels said a spokesman.
Speaking on the Occasion, Mohd Hanief Malik President Bhalessa United Front said that Bhalessa comprise of Kahara, Chilly Pingal, Gandoh, Neeli Khaljugasar, Chilly Area, Jitota area, Halaran, Joda and Soti Changa Klhotran. There huge landmass needs an administrative convenience and Government should concede the demand of the local masses at an earliest.
Sadaket Malik, Social Activist of the area said that In Bhalessa has time and again divided and its cultural canvas has been deteriorated. For administrative convenience.
The Additional District Magistrate is the cry of the hour and Chief Minister should amend the order at an earliest said Reyaz Zargar an activist.
The speakers have given ultimatum to the Government for immediate redress of their grievance at an earliest.
