Rana inspects site for Chila-Tada bridge, launches blacktopping of roads
Surinsar ,December 6, (Scoop News)-National Conference Provincial President and MLA Mr Devender Singh Rana on Wednesday visited the proposed site for the strategically pivotal 250 meter span Chilla Bridge, being constructed at Rs 25 crore in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
Mr Rana got the bridge approved after vociferously taking it up during the Fifth Meeting of the Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority on 8th July 2017. He had also sought appropriate and urgent funding for the project under Central Road Fund (CRF).
The bridge assumes significance for reviving pilgrim tourism in the area and will be first phase of the mega New Pilgrim Tourist Circuit from Utterbeni-Purmandal-Surinsar-Deon-Tada-Dansal-Domel to the footfall of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra.
Describing the New Pilgrim Tourist Circuit crucial for bringing Nagrota Constituency at the centre-stage of activity, leading to economic prosperity in terms of job generation and other avocations connected with tourism and pilgrimage. He said the bridge will go a long way in streamlining mobility in the area and enabling connectivity between various destinations on route to Katra.
“Apart from giving fillip to pilgrim tourism, the link will enhance the economic activity, especially transportation of farm produce between various villages”, he said and hoped that the first phase of the project will be completed in a time bound manner.
The MLA discussed the project details with senior engineers, who briefed him about various contours of the bridge.
Interacting with the people, present on the occasion, Mr Rana said launch of the project will be a great moment for them, as they have been craving for faster development.
He said his endeavour will always remain to harness the immense potential of the constituency to ensure it to emerge as sports, economic, educational and tourism hub. “This cannot be achieved without continued pro-active support of the people, whose feedback has been hugely beneficial in taking up various issues with the concerned agencies”, he added.
The MLA also started blacktopping of kilometers Chilla Road, and second phase of Malhori-Kupad road in Bajalta. He said smooth road connectivity is imperative for mobility. He said the upgradation and improvement of roads has become imperative in the wake of damages caused due to incessant monsoon rains.
Mr Rana called for expediting infrastructural restoration on immediate basis especially the utility services keeping in view the onset of the winter season.
Among others, Ch Rehmat Ali, Subash Singh, Advocate, Balwant Singh, Isher Dass, K.D Singh, Shamas Din, Showkat, Farooq Ali, Sanju, Mohan Lal, Balbir Singh, Kuldeep, Jagdish Khajuria, Darshan Lal and were present on the occasion.
