| PDP – BJP Govt's attitude towards MGNREGA workers unfortunate:Jan | |
Poonch,December 15, (Scoop News)-Criticizing the PDP-BJP government for turning blind towards the grievances and demands of workers engaged under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurranttee Act, National Conference leader Mr Ajaz Jan on Friday sought their issues sorted out on immediate basis.
In a statement issued here, Ajaz Jan said that MGNREGA workers are on strike for the past couple of days due to which works under this centrally sponsored scheme are getting hugely and adversely affected.
“We can't blame these workers for strike as the anti-people policies of the government broken promises are forcing them to go on strike time and again " Jan said.
Lambasting over Rural Development Department Ministry , Jan said that concerned minister made a promise with these workers in the wake of their earlier strike, assuring that their demand of an employment policy and other issues will be solved soon.
“Even the assurance of minister has fallen flat and these workers are again on strike as a result of which common people are getting affected " he added.
Youth National Conference Provincial President also asked the Government to come clear on its policy towards MGNREGA workers and take effective measures in ending the prevailing stalemate.
