Opposition parties betrayed people on innumerable occasions: Tak
PDP MLC asks NC, Cong to play a constructive role, work for betterment of people

Jammu, January 10, (Scoop News)-Lashing out at the National Conference (NC) and Congress for ‘disruptive’ mindset, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLC Firdous Tak has asked both the opposition parties to remember their betrayal with people of Jammu and Kashmir in 1953, 1972 and 1983 which brought state to the present political mess.

Participating in the discussion on Motion of Thanks on Governors Address in the Upper House of State Legislature Tak reminded the opposition parties that whenever a mother loses a child in Kashmir, it is a painful reminder of mischievous part played by both the parties during their rule that has left mothers weeping and dead bodies only.

The PDP MLC said that opposition members have no time to talk about developmental issue in the state and they were more interested in raking up issue related to gun-culture in Kashmir Valley.

“During past one year government apart from initiating developmental works and administrative reforms have worked for peace and reconciliation which is the core agenda of the PDP and for which our party was founded. I must congratulate the government and its team for working together and striding to make J&K a prosperous state”, Tak said.

He mentioned that Governor’s address has talked about different sectors like horticulture, rural development and R&B sector but for last two days, opposition talked about only gun culture and Kashmir.

“The Governor’s address has 52 pages but no one talked about these issue and problems faced by the people. The members sitting in opposition have no agenda rather than they are doing petty politics to mislead the people on one pretext or other”, Tak said.

The PDP leader said that while the Budget talks about what the government will do during the next fiscal year, the Governor’s address shows what government had done during the previous year.

“The ruling PDP-BJP coalition has taken some drastic administrative and economic steps to address the problems confronting the people,” Tak said and hoped that the opposition would play a constructive role to take J&K out of present political morass and extend its cooperation in historic welfare measures initiated by the PDP-BJP government in the state.
