Armed Infiltrators change their tactic | use pneumatic boat now to cross over River Jhelum to enter into this side of LoC instead of using identified mountain routes |
Uri-(Kashmir), January 18, (Scoop News)-Early probe into the gunning down of a suicide squad comprising five Jaish e Mohammed (JeM) terrorists indicates that they had used a pneumatic boat to cross over to this side of Line of Control (LoC) in this sector were actually assigned to carry out a hit and run strike on army or some defence installation on the eve of army day. It was for the first time that terrorists had used pneumatic boat to cross the River Jhelum instead of using indentified infiltration routes via range of mountains. On the intervening night of January 14th and 15th, five Jasih e Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were killed by alert Indian army soldiers who had crossed over River Jhelum in a boat while trying to sneak into Indian side of the border. Incidentally, on January 15th Indian army observes the day as Army day every year. The boat was rowed back by one of the terrorists and is still anchored on the other side of the river in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). The water level in the river, which acts as a de facto border at several places between two sides, has considerably receded these days due to cold season. Indian border guards are, however, maintaining a constant vigil on the boat. No eatables, maps or other related material was found with the bodies of slain terrorists suggesting that they had entered into this side of LoC with an intention of carrying out a hit and run strike at a nearby army camp or defence installation. Surprisingly, the slain terrorist had also shaven their bodies, a ritual, usually being performed by those who are about to commit the suicidal attack on a designated target. ... |
