Army launches cleanliness drive in village Chasana
over 200 locals voluntarily participate in 'Shramdaan'


Chasana, March 12, (Scoop News)-As a part of the nationwide Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Army took the initiative of organising a cleanliness drive on Monday at Chasana village of Reasi district to ensure health and hygiene in collaboration with NGO ‘We Care Society’.

The cleanliness drive was aimed towards developing a sense of hygiene and sanitation in Chasana village. Over 200 locals voluntarily did ‘Shramdaan’ and assisted the efforts of the Army bring about a lifestyle change in the state.

The villagers were educated about the benefits of cleanliness, prevention of various communicable diseases and causes and threats of epidemics due to unhealthy and unhygienic practices.

Villagers also took a vow to throw garbages at nominated places and maintain their respective localities clean.

A huge gathering of youths and locals enthusiastically and voluntarily participated in this drive. Mr Sushil Sharma, president NGO ‘We Care Society’ motivated and rallied the locals from various remote and far flung villages including Chasana, Sungri, Malikot, Sanglikot, Bagankot and Dandkot, to come forward and participate wholeheartedly in the cleanliness drive....
