Private school must regulate fee structure under norms: DC Kathua
Team seizes Stationery items, school uniforms without price, manufacturer name
Kathua,April 16, (Scoop News)- Acting swiftly on the reports of malpractices by the stationery and school uniforms selling shopkeepers, a team constituted by Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rohit Khajuria headed by Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Kathua Kuldeep Raj along with Legal Metrology Inspectors conducted extensive market checking in Kathua town.
The team inspected various shops of stationery and school uniforms found numerous items without the name of manufacturer and price. Besides other items were found deficient of standard details on the items. The team also find the rates of certain items as exorbitant.
Taking cognizance of the malpractices by these shopkeepers, the team seized different stationery items along with school uniforms on spot.
While briefing media, DC disclosed that team has been constituted to check any such malpractice by schools as well as shopkeepers. He appealed people to come forward and report any such wrongdoing by the sellers.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rohit Khajuria held a meeting with Private School Association and called upon the need to regulate the fee structure as per norms prescribed. He also called for maintaining fair and transparent fee structure and desist away from the practice of charging under unnecessary heads.
