Youth Congress protest during Prime Minister Visit over border killings

Jammu, May 19, (Scoop News)- Hundreds of Youth Congress activists today staged a strong protest demonstration here today during the visit of Prime Minister Narinder Modi ji to lodge strong resentment over the continued causalities of Jawans and Civilians in record number of ceasefire violations and heavy shelling by Pakistan.

Led by IYC Secretary In-charge J&K affairs Shri Sheshpal Singh & Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) President Shri Pranav Shagotra, a larger number of Youth Congress activists staged protest demonstration near Press Club Jammu here today raising slogans against Pakistan for unprovoked firing and questioning Modi government for its failure to effectively deal with Pakistan. They carried flags, play cards in their hands and amidst raising of slogans. They questioned Prime Minister Modi about 56” chest when record number of civilians and Jawans have been martyred during Modi regime in this State. a large contingent of police force prevented them from proceeding towards Tawi Bridge.

IYC Secretary Shri Sheshpal Singh strongly condemned Pakistan for heavy shelling in border area of the State and paid rich tributes to martyred Jawans in the firing. He said that the border area people are the unarmed soldiers guarding the nation who face the first bullet of the enemy. He demanded effective policy for the people of border area and accused Modi Government as the weakest and total failure of Pak front.

He further said that whatever measures were taken by the Govt. that are insufficient and it needs to take more steps to ensure fool proof security and safety of civilian population residing near to the border.

PYC president Shri Pranav Shagotra said that Pakistan has again violated ceasefire and continuously shelling across LOC on civilian population and accused Pakistan of resorting to worst kind of Shelling targeting innocent population, and violation of all international norms, even during the holy month of Ramzan.

Shri Shagotra expressed serious concern over the loss of lives of border area people, who have been targeted time and again. He lashed out at Pakistan for resorting to frequent ceasefire violation and targeting civilian population. He regretted that the BJP led NDA Govt. has miserably failed to check the Pak designs and to ensure security and safety of border residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that certain measures are essential to ensure safety and security of border area people. But it is most unfortunate that present Govt. is busy in praising itself.
