Avny Lavasa concludes Shaam tour

Leh, May 25, (Scoop News)-On the second day of her extensive tour of Shaam region, DC, Leh Avny Lavasa visited Dha, Hanu, Achinathang, Lehdo and Skurbuchan today and took stock of the people’s needs.
The people of Dha demanded upgradation of village road, renovation of school building and a culvert. At Hanu, people apprised her of drinking water problem and sough DC’s immediate intervention in streamlining the drinking water facility. They also demanded early completion of road and bridge within the village to ease the people’s movement. The villagers also demanded early handing over of the newly constructed community hall to the villagers and DC issued on spot instruction to the concerned BDO to take immediate action in this regard. She also visited High School Hanu and took a knowledge test from the students. On giving satisfying reply to the questions, Lavasa appreciated both the teaching staff and the students for their hard work and the level of education.
At Achinathang, people demanded early restoration of the headworks of irrigation channel which were washed away by the last flood. DC gave assurance to take steps in this matter. She also promised to install a hand pump for the villagers keeping in view shortage of drinking water points in the village.
The people of Lehdo demanded for early completion of the motorable bridge and also prayed for installation of a mobile tower. During her visit to Primary health Centre Skurbuchan, the issue of shortage of Doctors was raised before the DC. Drinking water problem at the village monastery was also raised. Besides, completion of Skurbuchan Lungba road was also brought into DC’s notice.
Giving patience hearing to the people’s demands at all these places, Avny gave assurance to the villagers for fulfilling all their genuine demands in a phased manner. She solved many of people’s problems on spot by issuing instructions to the concerned engineers and officers.
A team of officers and engineers was accompanying the DC during her 2-day tour to this region.
