Baramulla Police Solves Robbery Case,Recovers stolen property, golden ornaments worth 10 lakhs and Cash 1.3 Lakh
04 Robbers and 01 receiver of stolen property arrested from Pattan

Srinagar, May 25, (Scoop News)- Police Station Pattan received a written complaint that some unknown persons stepped inside the shop of a goldsmith Ab Rehman Marazi son of Ab Ahad Marazi located in the market place of Hyderbegh,Pattan on a pretext of selling a golden ring. The burglars realizing that an elderly shopkeeper is alone snatched the bag containing golden ornaments and ₹ 1.3 Lakhs cash.
Soon after receiving the complaint, a case FIR No. 87/2018 under section 392 RPC was registered and investigation was set into motion. Being a special nature case, a Special Investigation Team was constituted under the supervision of Raja Majid, SDPO Pattan assisted by Inspector Mohammad Saleem,SHO Pattan and after strenuous efforts the team was able to trace one suspect namely Ashiq Hussain Sofi son of Mohd Asgar sofi resident of Yakhmanpora,Pattan who was arrested and on questioning he disclosed the involvement of three more of his accomplices namely 1. Mohd Ibrahim Rather son of Ab Rehman 2. Syed Zafar Shah son of Syed Muzafar both residents of Yekhmanpora,Pattan and 3. Sajad Ahmad Parray son of Mohd Zaman resident of Malikpora, Tergam Sumbal who were also arrested from different areas.
During investigation it surfaced that after committing the crime these burglars had run away in a silver colored Alto car bearing registration number JK15/0649.
Police team subsequently recovered the vehicle as well as the entire stolen property, which includes the snatched golden ornaments and Cash amount from the possession of accused. The valuation of entire stolen property is estimated around more than Rupees Eleven Lakhs, which includes Golden ornaments worth Rs 10 lakhs and cash Rs 1.3 Lakh. Some of the stolen golden ornaments were sold to one Sameer Ahmad Dar son of Gh Hassan Dar resident of Sultanpora, Pattan who was also arrested being a receiver of stolen property. All the accused have been remanded to Police custody by a competent court.
Further Investigation into the matter is going on.
